TokkiTV - K-Drama Infographic & App
TokkiTV is a social platform app for Korean drama fans with the primary target audience of female millennials. The audience enjoys learning about other cultures through visuals means, and find appeal in shows that are not grounded in sex or violence. According to an interview with Korean TV producer Ma Jung-hoon at BBC news, 70% of sales are from Asia, while 30% is from the U.S. The Korean wave (Hallyu) is growing every year, and as it grows so does the community and those who are interested, making this a great opportunity for TokkiTV to reach out and bring in more numbers.
To connect effectively with the audience, the new brand will maintain a bright, charming tone throughout, with an emphasis on increasing accessibility and ease of transitioning into the Korean wave craze. By reaching out to those interested and having an app that allows ease of finding shows based on preferences, it allows the brand to stand out significantly from its competitors. The color palette effectively makes use of bright, soft tones that contrast nicely with a dark, mature plum to symbolize the innocence of the dramas, but also being grounded in reality. The style of the new brand is maintained consistently throughout the infographic and the app. Additionally, there is an animated version of the infographic that is easily shareable, thus increasing the amount of interest in Korean dramas. With careful information gathering and detail, TokkiTV opens up a pathway for current and new Korean drama lovers to connect and discover a whole other culture.
