MetaMagik Studios is an indie game development company with the primary target audience of young adults between the ages 18 to 25. These adults have grown up with AAA video game companies such as Nintendo, and desire video games that are inspired by the nostalgia of their childhood, but also capable of challenging and innovative gameplay experiences. According to SteamSpy, the median ownership per indie game on Steam is only 1,500, a significant decrease of 22,000 in 2015. This statistic can be overcome with a strong brand identity by creating a consumer group that is interested in not just one game, but anything that the company produces.
To effectively launch a connection with the target audience, the new brand will maintain a playful and bold tone throughout, with an emphasis on creating unconventional games that open a magical connection between gaming and reality in order to differentiate from the competition. The color palette effectively makes use of contrasting cool dark colors, with bright energy, further distancing it from the competition. The style of the new brand is maintained throughout the logo, website, and its products. Additionally, there are takeaways for members of the development team, but some of these items will also be sold online that allow the brand’s audience to feel more connected. With careful attention to detail, and deep love for the gaming industry, the brand creates an experience that immerses its consumers beyond its games.
